The Strollers is a leisurely walking group. We meet each Tuesday afternoon, time to be advised weekly. We usually meet at St Andrew's car park, always have your bus passes at the ready, we may car share or walk from there. We will usually have refreshments at a nearby cafe sometime during the stroll. Our strolls are usually about 2 miles long and easy walking. Past strolls have included local walks around Washington, the coast at Sunderland, Seaham and South Shields, the ferry to North Shields, Durham, Newcastle, local Parks and Beamish Museum. Sometimes strolls include a visit to a historical place of interest such as the 1719 Church in Sunderland and the 'Lit and Phil' in Newcastle.
- Members take turns to plan and lead the strolls.
- We have a strollers Whatsapp group and weekly details are posted on that

- Some members find walking sticks or poles useful but not essential
- You need to dress according to the weather, a waterproof is often worth taking
- You may want to bring a bottle of water
- You need to fill in an emergency contact sheet and hand it to the group leader before taking part in strolls.
